Deutsche Bank employees across the US came together over the past weeks to support, assist and honor those less fortunate in their communities. Through events and donations of both gifts and funds, staff from coast-to-coast demonstrated compassion and generosity to ensure that hundreds of underserved children and their families would enjoy a brighter holiday season.

In New York, employees from 60 Wall and 345 Park Avenue once again partnered with New York Cares’ Winter Wishes program to collectively answer more than 1,000 letters submitted by disadvantaged children, many of whom would not otherwise receive holiday gifts. The Bank received the letters from eight community partners of New York Cares including homeless shelters, educational institutions and other social service agencies. This year Deutsche Bank doubled the number of wishes fulfilled in 2010 and, of over 500 corporate and civic teams that partner with New York Cares for Winter Wishes, ranks Number 4 in most number of letters answered.

DWS Investments, a member of Deutsche Asset Management, Chicago employees donated toys, clothes and money to the Annual Christmas Party at Off The Street Club, Chicago's oldest boys and girls club serving over 3,000 at-risk kids. Additionally, the office coordinated two visits from Santa for the children who are part of the organization’s tutoring program, which the Bank has supported for more than 19 years. During the first visit Santa read the letters to the children and returned at a later date to deliver toys. They also turned a conference room into a cookie decorating room where children and employees decorated holiday treats.

Harborside, NJ employees participated in Jersey Cares’ Frosty’s Friends program, providing gifts for students at Anthony J. Infante elementary school in Jersey City, while the Boston office continued their tradition of participating in Boston Cares’ Frosty’s Friends by answering 100 letters from children in need.

Jacksonville participated in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program to provide underprivileged children gifts, adopting more angels than any previous year with 100 and filling 200 stockings. In Houston, the Local Area Council participated in a Bike Build event organized by the Elves and More charity, which funds the building and distribution of over 20,000 bikes to underserved Houston area children.

Deutsche Bank offices in Miami, FL, Cary, NC and Delaware all participated in local toy drives benefiting Toys for Tots and other programs. Delaware staff also adopted a local family of five who were in need of assistance this season. The Los Angeles office held a drive to benefit the Downtown Women’s Center, which serves homeless women.
