Deutsche Bank named Private Sector Partner of the Year

Deutsche Bank was honored by the Supportive Housing Network of New York as this year’s Private Sector Partner of the Year. John Kimble, Community Development Finance Group, VP of Philanthropic Initiatives, accepted the award on behalf of the bank at Capitale on October 18.

The award recognizes the bank’s longstanding commitment to the field through Supportive Housing Acquisition and Rehabilitation Effort (DB SHARE) and its recent leadership in addressing homelessness.

DB SHARE provides three years of funding to cover a range of pre-development needs. Deutsche Bank has committed more than 17 million dollars in seven rounds of awards for nearly two decades, jumpstarting development of 8,500 units of supportive housing.

Deutsche Bank is also a founding partner of the New York Acquisition Fund allowing nonprofits to purchase properties outside their agency’s economic reach. The fund has made 370 million dollars in loans to 66 projects, a third of them supportive.

In addition, Deutsche Bank has taken a lead in funding ground-breaking systems change work – including the Coordinated Assessment and Placement System (CAPS) and funding a wholly new position in the Mayor’s Office to coordinate efforts to address youth homelessness.

“For more than 25 years, Deutsche Bank has been a steadfast friend of supportive housing – of the model, of the providers and of the Supportive Housing Network,” said Laura Mascuch, Executive Director, Supportive Housing Network of New York. “From their creation of the DB SHARE program to investments in supportive housing to supporting policy work, Deutsche Bank has consistently gone above and beyond to help end chronic homelessness through supportive housing.”
