Now in its third year, Frieze New York is set to return to Randall's Island Park, May 9 – May 12. As in past years, Frieze will be housed in a bespoke structure overlooking the East River. Deutsche Bank is once again the main sponsor, just as in London for the past 11 years. Last year’s New York Fair attracted approximately 45,000 visitors to Randall’s Island and featured contemporary art work from around the world offering collectors and enthusiasts access to both new and established artists.

This year, Frieze New York will feature over 190 contemporary galleries including 53 from New York. The third annual event expects a record number of participants, and the show will again be international in scope, with galleries from more than countries featuring their works. Two sections of young galleries will complement the main gallery section.

As in past years, Deutsche Bank will sponsor the Fair’s Education Program, which will combine workshops for high school students with visiting groups of school children to aims to encourage a collaborative working process and create an awareness of current practice in the contemporary art world. One of the projects Deutsche Bank is supporting is the Bronx River Art Council's Teen Project Studio, an intensive art program for teens from the South Bronx. Participants will use virtual reality technology to produce digital guides to the Frieze that will be distributed widely to other youth in the Bronx. The guides will weave together the teens' photographs and reviews of the show with interviews they are conducting with artists, curators, collectors and other fair visitors.

Frieze New York will also feature a Frieze Sounds section with several commissioned audio works, and Frieze Projects, ambitious site-specific works staged throughout the fair. This year’s Projects are by artists Darren Bader, Eduardo Basualdo, Eva Kotátková, Marie Lorenz, Koki Tanaka, and Naama Tsabar. The program will also feature a special tribute to Allen Ruppersberg’s 1971 installation Al’s Grand Hotel.
